Description Hello there, Darto here!

For those who those who've been following my work I'm finally going and uploading my renders up on this DeviantArt account, but with a twist! Instead of simply uploading the renders as they were, I felt it was necessary to make something more out of the renders I've produced.

As for this Astalos render, this is my 3rd time preparing an Astalos model for rendering purposes. The first was using a model ported by Rough-Chrysalis , and it took me 2 days to reach this level of "quality" , which is still pretty rough considering it was the 3rd monster I ever tried rendering. Took me 2 days without eating to pose, texture edit, and sort out the individual meshes out so that it was usable, I was not very efficient back then. There were many issues, the largest one worth noting was that the MMD model Chrysalis ported simply had an entire texture sheet of mesh removed (the yellow bits of the wings). I had to re-extract Astalos and sift through that again to create this render on 4/11/21. I went from using the blender internal render engine in blender 2.79 to switching over to Cycles, which improved the quality drastically.

The second time I learned the hard way about how limited the tools used for extraction can be, when I imported this model into Tabletop Simulator from the switch version of MHXX without toggling backface culling in blender only to find the model was completely full of holes!  This was also before I started porting models to Tabletop Simulator using Unity (around February), so I was still using the inefficient OBJ import function, which drastically increases the required workload for the overall lower quality of the model comparatively, (Unity Processed models for comparison) .

My 3rd and final attempt resulted in the render you see in the main post here, although I have a feeling this won't be the last time we see him.
