Xiphios, my Broad Sword/Shield character in City of Heroes. I really didn't want to draw him in the tech armor he normally wears, so I went with his costume inspired by the Rularuu weapons.Related content

very cool. i don't think i've seen you really do much with a sort of medieval/fantasy type flare, erk. i didn't even know there was a sword and shield class in CoH. i've missed out on quite a bit. ;_;

Since CoH was released, there has always been two sword powersets - Broad Sword and Katana. We just got a new free expansion in early December which gave us the Shield set - but the only guys that can use swords and shields together are Scrappers.
As for the costume, I've never really been into the medieval type look, because there weren't a lot of options until recently and I didn't want to be stuck looking like a knight in full armor as well as the same as everyone else, just in a different color.

well, i remember there being the broad sword and katana... i always thought those were rather cool. the shield though is a nifty addition. it's like i could play ffxi and CoH at the same time now! jk. yeah. not really.

Nice work! I really love the sense of action yet get across here and how you have a somewhat darkish colour palate (in terms of the figure and his weapons) but the composition is still fairly bright.

Ah, I really, really need to try out that Shield... I love his costume colors, but your characters always have such wonderful costumes.
(As always, I love seeing these - there's so few people doing good CoH artwork that I've found.

Shields definitely are an interesting set, but very fun to play with. Definitely try it out!
