Description "My Blue Heaven"

When whippoorwills call and evening is nigh,
I hurry to my Blue Heaven.
A turn to the right, a little white light,
Will lead me to my Blue Heaven.

I'll see a smiling face, a fireplace, a cozy room,
A little nest that nestles where the roses bloom;
Just Molly and me, and baby makes three,
We're happy in my Blue Heaven.

You know I'm gonna see a smiling face, a fireplace, a cozy room,
A little nest that nestles where the roses bloom;
Just Molly and me, and baby makes three,
We're happy in my Blue Heaven.

---Harry Connick, Jr., I THINK. It may be Sinatra. I can't find sources that agree.

My father's mother used to sing this and play it on the organ. I don't have any physical inheritance from her, not so much as one of her music boxes, as she disowned me when I was 17 and that was that.

This song, a few other memories, one dream, and I'm starting to look like she did when last I saw her. I am startled when I look in the mirror. I don't fix my hair in that elaborate 60s-dowager way, but other than that. I guess she was about a decade or two at most older than I am now, and, well, nevermind. It's incredible how fast the years go by and how people go out of their way to be permanently offended by things that really shouldn't be so significant...in a world in which cold-blooded killing is becoming so common.

I think I'd rather keep my mind on my blue heaven, wall it off from the world, and stay inside those lines. I don't think I'm up to the pain of reality anymore.

Someone is stomping on my toes, demanding I apologize for something I don't even remember doing.

Very peaceful image. Sorry for the delay in commenting. I've been dealing with some minor complications from a minor procedure.

Actually it was a completely spur of the moment procedure, I went to see my doctor and we decided to remove my feeding tube. I had it for 6 yrs 8 months and 17 days... the problem is the entry hole isn't healing as quickly as it should so I'm having stomach contents draining out through the tract. Seems to have slowed down quite a bit today, so hopefully it'll close soon.

It was a great thing, since it was thought I would have it for the rest of my life and kept me from doing things people take for granted... like getting in a hot tub, wadding in the ocean etc. My doc said it was the best thing he did all day. I will still have problems with gastric paresis, but hopefully it won't get to the degree it did in 2000.

Oh, wow. How are you doing now??? Are you going to be able to keep your weight up? I'd lend you all the fat cells you need for as long as you need 'em, if I could. I'm hoping you can heal up and do all the things you need to do.

This is the second Sunday in a row I've gone to church and started bleeding at the site. It hadn't bled since Wednesday. Oh well... I'm still leaking stuff too but it looks to be healing.

The nature of the beast is that I never know when the gastroparesis is going to rear its ugly head, but I haven't needed to do a tube feeding in over 5 months... and I'm hoping in the future I can just ride it out. (esp since replacing it requires open abdominal surgery because of it going into the intestine)

Thanks Silky

the frame is pretty, the picture is pretty. the frame doesn't go with the picture, but after I read the comment I couldsee how the frame is perfect for the picture for you you have had such an interesting and chalenging life, I am looking forward to hearing more about it when the tme Is right. I haven't seen you on MSN lately, we are both busy as always, but I have thought of you still

I wish I were busy. I know you are. Even without the cute chicks, huh? I'm just terribly, terribly ill. you know you're pretty sick when MSN with a great chum is too much to handle. and there I am. my computer is rendering stuff without me. only way I could be making artwork right now.

believe it or not the frame is made of pieces of the picture. I was thinking of how mosaics are put together. Walls. Which is also very perfect if you know...anywya

thanks for thinking of me, I've thought of you too...kinda heartsick to be this ill, and I have friends who need me, but you know the adversary is more than willing to tell me they're all better off without

I should be in the ER, I think; I'm having that much trouble breathing. But I've gotten through this crud before, and will again no doubt.

we've all been sick here at my house too. it started with Aubyn 3 days ago, and whenthe Dr said this stomach virus was gvery contagious, she sure wasn't kidding...now we are all really sick...but I am sorry to hear you are sick too, with everything else, im sure being sick makes it much harder, and all the other things make being sick harder too...I hope you are all better soon

the frame does have that walls and mosaic feeling, and I also see how it repeats the images of the image. it adds a discomfortable feeling to the image tho, ...and I guess based on the comment that was your artistic intention...tho the frame is nice, and the picture in it is nice, together the whole thing doesn't make me feel good.I'm probably not making sence, I'm not thinking very clearly cause if my being sick

anyhow, I pray you recover soon

aw, I'm awfully sorry you're sick, and hope you're better by now, and have been able to take care of all that needs done. I've been in bed all day trying to sleep it off and avoid stress. easier said than done.

The original was sung by Fats Domino.
I love 'blue moods' like this. Very soothing & beautiful! I can hear the song playing in the distance...

A creative and very cool frame, and your "Blue Heaven" is lovely and heavenly. I love the song. My mom used to sing it when I was a child..and I've sung it since. You are so right when you write: "incredible how fast the years go by and how people go out of their way to be permanently offended by things that really shouldn't be so significant...in a world in which cold-blooded killing is becoming so common."

I'm sorry about the estrangement from your grandmother and the hurt you've experienced from family and persons you once considered friends. That has to be one of the worse thing to go through in this life. Remeber who loves you and sez "come unto me, all ye who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." You can come as you are to Him, because He loves you unconditionally.

I hope that your life is riddled with better things than the past. As for your blue heaven, it's gorgeous! It does help one to forget pain. If I remember correctly, psychologists have found that blue is a soothing, friendly, comforting color... it calms you down after a long day.

This is beautiful! All the blues look lovely, and I especially like the pretty frame.

You should probably just apologize anyways, lol. It never hurts, it only makes another person feel better.
