Ps, I have no idea how many hours, a lot.
I would like to tell a little story of the creation of this picture. A long time ago... I decided to draw the "evil" version of our good Princess (before a Daybreaker). As the villainous shape of the selected character, guess who, and drew this: orig00.deviantart.net/05a5/f/2…

I am having a hard time time deciding what I like the most about this picture...the copper spikes on the background, Celestia's mane, she herself, the dragon...

I dislike the shape of the armor "horns" in the two pictures linked in the description. I think that might've been the reason why you didn't like it. Try replacing the armor with what is in the picture above, and see how you like it after. This picture is a wonderful take on the "Evil Celestia" scope. Most people make her mane super bright red, like the sun, but I love your approach to making it dimmer. It reminds me of smoke and ash, which both are related to fire.
