Description
For ~Unknown-D-Flamerose for whom I've owed a quickie art trade (artwork done within one hour...this took a little over that) for about four months. Here's a "cricket" ... sort of.
I figured since you'd waited so long I would "add" a bit more to it. This was done with only light sketching beforehand in PEN the same pen I did the rest of the drawing in...a cheap little ten cent Bic brand pen. It didn't really like the bristol board I did this on, but it still did its job.
And lookie!! Foreground! Background! I rarely if ever do those.

Actually, nope, I don't illustrate for a living. I've published a few books, but none were any good. I get pressured every now and then to do it again by sweetly biased friends and family and best friend who happens to be a publisher, but I honestly don't feel I'm good enough to print, so lately I've been churning out a lot of "mud" manuscripts as exercises...and I feel like I'm doing the same thing with art, just churning out a lot of exercises in the hope that eventually I'll strike something.

The best work I have put out always flows, when I look at your art I see the "flow" consistently. I wish I was as consistent.. I think that is what it takes to be successful. I hope you continue to put out the work you do... And yes, flattery will get you everywhere!
