Our luxury of choice---------------
Where does time go when you can count the seconds till your death,
when no grain of sand in the hourglass will know the pressure you feel
in the second it just stole from your life?
Then the actions you take in those last precious days
will rip you down to your core.
The mother in her boundless and selfless love
will never leave her children's sides
The movie star will tell the world her tragedy
all the while with a mirror in the pocket
The greedy tycoon will end his life before his time is up
finally realizing money really isn't everything and can't by his way out of this
And the priest will sit quietly in his chapel
waiting for his life to begin
And me...? Three days till destiny is for my family and friends
spending time with the ones who shaped my life
Two days till destiny I spend with nature
The first artist from whom we all steal
And for my final day I go to a hospital
and spend time with the sick children
Who can't choose how to spend the few days they have left to live
Dedicated to Brian, John, Mark, and all those whose lives have been affected by cancer.

those lines are brilliant, and so true.
In fact, i love this entire poem for its truth. It's showing of the unjust. I admire your last three days. I love this peice. Unconventional in style, almost more prose than poetry. Wonderfully written.
