Oh wow, hey! It’s me, Nat! How long has it been, since high school, right? Wow, almost a decade…I’m surprised you recognized me! I let my hair grow out quite a bit since then, I feel like it’s just more me, you know?

My what? Oh, no, these aren’t fake, they’re my ears. My real ears. The ears I was meant to have all along. See, nothing on the sides of my head anymore, just cheek and hair. And look, I can move these ones around, see? Isn’t it cool?

But soon I won’t have to worry about that at all.

I’ve finally started being honest, honest with myself, honest with my parents, honest with my friends, and now even honest with you. I’ve come out as trans-species, and started species reassignment therapy. By this time next year, I’ll finally be on the outside the mare I always was on the inside. I know it might sound weird to someone who can’t relate, but it feels so liberating to know that soon I’ll be able run on my four powerful legs, hooves stomping on the ground as the wind blows through my mane and tail…

Oh, sorry, I was getting a bit carried away. But it’s just so…it feels so good to finally be able to say out loud what I’ve always really known, you know? I’m just a little bit excited about the whole thing. Well, I’ve gotta be on my way, I have a DNA transfusion to get to. If all goes according to plan, I should have started growing my tail in a few weeks.

Oh, wait, here, let me give you my number, just in case you ever want to go for a ride sometime. I’m sure I’d appreciate the practice once I start physical therapy. Although, I’m not sure how easy it’ll be to answer the phone once my face changes and my fingers turn into hooves…but I’m sure they have something figured out for that.

You know, it’s funny, back when we were in school, I had a bit of a crush on you. Isn’t that funny? A mare having a crush on a human? Well, those were different times I guess, peer pressure made me think if I didn’t like a human, I was weird. Luckily I don’t have to worry about that stuff anymore.
