Background: Once upon a time there was a land where there was no moon or stars, just blackness when the sun set. Four men traveled to a nearby kingdom one day and when night fell they expected darkness, but instead it was still light. An old farmer noticed the men’s confusion and told them why there was light. He lead them to an old oak tree on the west side of the Kingdom, on one of the branches was a lovely lantern, named The Moon, that lit up the sky. The old man told the four about how they had received the lantern recently from a nearby kingdom and that it was always shining brightly just so long as you cleaned it and kept it tidy or something could form from the dripping wax. The Four men feared that it was a demon the old man warned them about, and continued to watch the lantern light up the sky. Eventually the old man left, and the four men plotted to steal the Moon, so they left the kingdom and returned again the next day, this time with a wagon. They thought the kingdom could just buy a new one; they wouldn’t have an issue with someone taking it right?
Well turns out they didn’t mind, the four were able to take the lantern place it in the wagon and then off they went back to their own land. They hung the lantern on their own oak tree and took turns caring for it over the years, making sure it was cleaned and tidy and no wax dripped from it. But slowly the men started growing older. And after a few years, one was on his deathbed. His last request was to cut a quarter of the lantern and lay it with him inside his grave, and so that request was followed through, and now only three fourths of the lantern remained. But the lantern was only a little dimmer then before, and still shone brightly. Then another of the men died, and then another and finally the last, each asking for a quarter of the Moon to be buried with them, each having a quarter of the moon buried with them.
Now the land was once more covered in darkness, but deep deep down in the ground, the four parts of the moon were reunited and once more shone brightly. Soon all the Dead all started rising and doing what they once did in life, but the lantern was left on the ground unattended. Eventually the wax leaked out and from it did not come a demon but a beautiful girl. Soon all the dead started gathering around her. The dead rising was enough to alert the angels of heaven, but the dead gathering all together sent an alarm out. And then one angel flew from heaven on his magical flying horse and down to the land of the dead. He took one look at the Moon girl and fell in love instantly. When he scattered the dead back to their deathbeds he told the girl to go back into her lantern and he’d take her to heaven, away from the dead and with him. she of course wanted to get away from the dead, and though she wasn’t sure of going with the angel to be with him but heaven did sound very nice; so she accepted the offer and placed her lantern on his horse and withdrew into it. Off they flew to heaven, but half way there, the lantern (and the Moongirl inside) fell off! And down and down she fell. The angel didn’t even notice until he had already reached heaven and by then it was too late. He lost sight of the lovely candle girl as she fell in her lantern.
When the lantern finally hit the ground the candlegirl crawled out and picked it up, looking around at the forest she landed in. it didn’t look familiar at all! And so she walked aimlessly in the woods until she walked into a town, Fabula the citizens called it. She saw the sky and realized there was Light at night! There was a moon and stars and oh how wonderful it looked!.. it seemed she was not needed here, for they had their own Moon lantern to light up the sky. But.. the place seemed much better than the land of the dead.. and she didn’t know how to get back to the other land she once lived. So maybe she could stay here. At least for a little bit.
Now she wanders around late at night admiring the stars in the forest and in town, if you listen closely you can hear her singing a lullaby.

the only possession she has is her lantern, it feels almost like clay on the outside and can easily be cut..even if the inside is lined with metal ( and the candle holder is made with metal)
