Description "A garden is always a series of losses set against a few triumphs, like life itself."-May Sarton

I don't know if this one will really ever be done. It started as lifeless, clean, yet dirty, brown, boxy environment, which took about 10 hours. In 40 minutes the color was added and it was given life and expression.

16x20 Acrylic and a little bit of stucco medium for texture... unfortunately the picture doesn't do it justice lol

a bit of a story makes the art come alive. so many just upload without any information not even what kind of medium was used.  You have a nice gallery, well done wish I could do the same.

I love this painting, great color scheme and interesting - kind of atmospheric perspective in cubic forms.

Great, so complex artifacts make it saturated like a big city, great job in here.

EphemeralGaze [2010-01-25 14:20:39 +0000 UTC]

I like this one a lot, it has a different sort of aliveness than your other paintings, it's probably the nice clean colors and bolder paint application

Thanks a lot! Yeah lately i've been trying to get away from slowly getting to the result by applying layer upon layer of thoughtlessly applied paint. It takes work but i'm slowly getting there I hope!

I really like this - the colour choice seems (to me) rather sinister (though i am drawing my own meaning here) and i feel claustrophobic just looking at it.

of course, the gunfire i can hear in the background probably is contributing to the atmosphere (army training, not war thankfully).

I'm glad you like it! . Ya its interesting how the environment you are in definitely can make a difference in interpretation. Sorry it made you claustrophobic! But selfishly, its cool it made you feel anything haha. Thanks again!

I love this a lot man! I would hang this up in my own house for sure. The depth is great, and the rendering of light makes a lot of the elements pop.

This is how abstract art should always speak!

Aww thanks Pas! I should try more like this with different themes. Maybe my paintings could become better manifestations of my true soul and maybe i could also work towards that moral gravitas. lol, completely kidding on that one of course!

I really like this painting, and can't see anything to critique on it. It feels really balanced and self-contained...so I feel like it's finished and perfect just as it is.
But I know how a piece can just feel...unfinished sometimes, so maybe it won't ever be, to you, no matter what you do.
Lovely work, though. Thanks for sharing~

You're welcome :3 And yeah, sometimes it's best to leave those kinds of projects alone even if they don't feel done, or you end up over working them. xD; Gosh, hate it when that happens.
Thanks!~ ^^
