I did use PRE and used green grass to set it - worked on my D80 but will not set on my d90...so sad

Hey! Awesome Infrared shot. However, I can't help but help notice that the reflection looks a tad faked? It seems a little wrong how the other side of the bridge (and steps) would be visable in this way in the water. It looks like the image has been flipped and VERY cleverly edited. All in all, I still applaud you

wrong.....nothing fake or edited on the reflection - just how the ir worked

Hello! fantastic photo, im trying to learn IR atm... just a quick q, how did you get the water reflection so good?. Once again, amazing shot!

THanks - I just keep an eye out for the best reflection lighting - The water usually evens out with the required IR long-exposures

Wait a minute.
I thought the D80 had some kind of blocking against IR filters.

It's not a great IR camera but with some long exposures it can be done

I ran across your photos on Flickr and was absolutely stunned. For an experimental photographer, I must say your shots are beyond reproach. I was particularly impressed with this set of IR photos you've posted. I have a D80 and 720nm IR Filter as well and even with 30" exposure I can't even come close to this quality. Are there any secrets you wouldn't mind sharing with the rest of us frustrated D80 owners?

Thanks for serving up the inspiration!

Thanks much - I always shoot my IR images in the middle of the day - bright sun. I also have to watch where the light direction is facing to get best results. Getting the WB correct makes a big difference as well. I had 4-5 sessions before I set the white balance how i wanted the look. Let me know any specific IR question you have
