Description I wanted to see if I could match the toon shader in Ghost in the shell - Stand Alone Complex. I read that they used Max and Illustrate for the series, so I tried it with Max and the Ink & Paint shader. Modeled and rendered in MAx

hey, been doing a fait bit o toon stuff in my studies for animation, Ink n paint you'll find is pretty terrible lol look at Tachikomas eyes on the main sphere and the line thickness bites - in some places the line style will be inconsistent and stuff, as well as not being able to reflect n stuff; it's good, but u can do a manual material heaps better. In the worst case with Ink n paint, it'll actuall cross-hatch to cope with shading and distance - here's a link to some fish i did in my first year, as u can see they've been unnecissarily cross-hatched into the distance - if you can get your hands on finalTOON, it is the be all and end all of all toon shaders, line integrity is immaculate and the flexibility of the shader's materials are really really good good luck mate, damn nice Tachikoma - how u model it? NURBs? or poly modelling with a buttload o meshsmooths XD i'd love to know where u got refs lol, i wanna give the sentient tank in episode 2 a shot
