What I like about Maximus is that he has a ballanced personality, on my opinion.He can be strict, but he is also kind.He is not only some ruthless roman general.He understands even his enemy.Remember in the beginning, when he fought with the germans, and he actually said, that its natural for people to not giving easily their freedom.And later, when he talked to the emperor and said that many of his soldiers have died and he wants to believe they didnt die for nothing.
