The Titanis walleri is modeled with 3D Studio Max.
The smilodon is the résult of a 3d scan
( 3D scanner EINSCAN-S : www.machines-3d.com/scanner-3d…)

Actually the Pliocene species of Smilodon first appeared only 2.5 million years ago and was only the size of a leopard, and would have avoided the larger and more powerful terror bird.

I had seen in the documentary "Walking with the beasts" a confrontation between a smilodon and Titanis walleri .. The smilodon seemed quite impressive, I try to reproduce this scene,

Thank u for your informations

Hi Eric!
The WWB series were not that accurate in this matter, plus the terror birds depicted in the series were Phorusarchos rather than a titanis,a mistake again as the Phorusarchos was a Miocene species ande died out 10M years before the arrival of Smilodons in South America.the whole scene took place in South American Plains of Pleistocene ,so the Smilodon would be a S.populator which differs from North American S.fatalis. In fact, the only Smilos which could met Titanis would be S.gracilis of Florida.
Anyway,I like this work of yours.

I think if a S.populator -or even a S.fatalis for that matter- and a T.walleri could confront in real world, our cat had a very good chance to stand the mighty bird.

hello Mehdi,

Thank you for your expertise, I knew that a mammoth could not face a T-rex but I'm not expert enough to more accurately.
I was fascinated by the WWB series, especially in underwater documentary. I'm surprised not to see underwater scene among your works? Have you ever thought about it ?

No doubts all the paleo-enthusiasts would enjoy the series. They were the trigger of the interest in many of us.
I have not started studying on prehistoric aquatic mammals seriously yet,but who knows?  Perhaps I give them a try.

in fact, my question was not disinterested
I would like to model the lochness monster based on this prehistoric animal like this one
sg.theasianparent.com/wp-conte…

the difficulty is to make some original head (the body is very simple).

So one day you decide to submit an aquatic animal, it would be cool considering another collaboration
