Yes xDD. Her expression changed a lot during the whole process (my initial intention was to draw her with a sad face, reflecting that all that she did, all the pain she suffered, was for her love for Madoka. But, in the end, I thought that this expression reflects better her new personality)

TBH I like the interpretation where she knows that she wronged Madoka but she could't see any better solution. Then this smile is just another act, so is that "new personality". Not necessarily a conscious act, she may be nuts, but she's still Homura after all.

That's a topic that I like a lot . I rewatch rebellion and I read a lot of interesting interpretations about the "new" Homura ("Homucifer" or "Akuma Homura") and there's not a clear accord about if Homura really changes entirely (her nature and personality) or if she continues being herself after the transformation (a personality hidden behind a "demon" role). I completely agree with you: her personality could have changed exclusively in the "outside", maintaining her true nature inner (so she acted in that way because it was the only way). Homura has shown to be a really strong and determined person, even if she have to "transform" herself in something different to save or be at Madoka's side (in the anime, she shows a "rude" personality, hiding her kindly nature). But what most fascinates me is the creation of the new Universe. In that reality, there are two equivalent forces: good and evil, being remarked again that all phenomena in the world have an opposite and equivalent force that compensates and creates a "perfect" equilibrium. So to be the equivalent of Madokami ("personified" good), she has to transform herself in something different ("personified" evil), but it's not clear how much her original personality has changed (or if it has really disappeared).
