I tend to live and die by inking with multiliners myself (not that I dont use the peans and brushes now and then.

Thank you! I really really love my #2 brush, but I'm just so much quicker with multiliners--gotta find some way in between...

hmm I'd say drawing pens though while everyone says :crowquil I actually find them fiddly (probably due to my hand size) so I use a globe nib at times instead
It covers a large area when you but its not ultra quick.
Try brush markers if you have not already theycome in a good range of sizes so they can be used at speed and have the same coverage as a brush theybaren't prefect you will have to go over the same line twice often but they are pretty good intermediaries.
I uses them a lot for heavy shading and caves etc.
