Interesting use of the halftone effects here. I know they've pretty much replaced the manual transfer sheets and old Zip-a-tone overlays since the end of the 1990s, but I seldom see them used in a manner that reminds me of the way it used to be done in black and white comics. Well done!
About the character herself, I'm only vaguely aware of her through her appearance in those final issues of New X-Men: Academy X during the "Decimation" crossover story arc in 2004, and her role in a miniseries that ran for a year or two before that. You drew the character to look like a teenager again, while most other people have already morphed her into an Image-esque "supermodel" many times over. I prefer the former, as it is "on model" for the way the character was originally designed.
I don't really give much thought to the character herself these days. The story arc in which she joined the X-Men was part of that trend that drove me away from the comics in the final run, but I never really had anything positive or negative to say about her, given that she was introduced outside of the main books in a series that never quite came across my radar. Today, I only occasionally browse through books in which she appears, and it doesn't seem like the stories grab me like the old ones did, so I withold any judgement on the character herself.

I knew little about the character too, but looked her up on wikipedia and figured the teen version is the way she was meant to be. I've never even read a book with her in it!
