Here is my first real attempt at digital painting i started 3 months ago. Finally finished it!Used Krita to do this ... awesome FREE program, best brushes around
I have always been fascinated by underwater scenes, i find them so calming, best place to escape our busy lives.
Please critique, i have a lot to learn!

You did a spectacular job, great lighting and colours and the bubbles are believable.

Ah thx a lot!!Β It means a lot... had fun with those bubbles, blurring them a little made them more real

One of the best tools available is the blur tool, that and air brush to give a slightly glow effect.

I did this in Krita, wich has a smudge and smear brush wich is sooooo much more natural than anything in PS ... Practically all my other paintings were made in PS and they miss a bit of that naturalnessΒ (krita slows down sometimes and has poor image editing compared to PS, thats why I only us it to sketch now)

I use open canvas light which came with a graphics tablet I was given,
It's similar to Photo shop in set up just not as many options
but it still does the job. It's also better suited to drawing in my opinion.
It does have that naturalness, worth all the time you put into it.

Thx!! At first it didint have that much, but i went crazy with the dodge tool !!! I like sun rays way too much!
