Exactly what I thought about it. I found its a hull mark for professional design, looks awesome from every direction. Gundam etc have done that all the time. But I think this is more interesting when it comes to games. For example, the vicviper ship is the most iconic in top down view, but that doesn't happen in the game, we get to see it from side, but it turns out its still awesome that way, and you get to see the twin nose when you move the ship. I think Gradius was amount the first games that put some real effort in mechanical design which was overlooked by most fans. During that time, most game mech has only one frame to look at, or designed to looks cool only at that view. With those primitive graphics, itβs hard for player to notice the other dimension of the ship in several pixel resolutions, unless there is something different really stand out, and that was the intention behind the twin nose design. After Gradius, game developers learned what to do with better graphics. For example: Thunderforceβ¦

In video game, wings are not for fly, they are used as radar and force shield emitter. Because our universe has anti gravity and zero air resistance.

holy shit.. looks awesome! the design and render both are good
whats with the software..? is it a rendering system.. or a modeling package or what?

I use Autodesk inventer, render in Autodesk showcase. You can donwload these for free as student. [link]

Fave. I love it. Design input? Leave the reflective surface of the "cone" but maybe switch shaders on the "cap" of the thrusters (the extruded portion on the end). Make it an obvious terminator instead of having the mirrored shading go all the way through. IMHO

I got your point, I can minimum the reflection intensity on those parts. The only problem I have is that I need to change the materiel in the modeling, I don;t think my render software can use multiple shading functions. Less reflection takes off system load.

Oops. Just realized I was thinking "material" when I said "shader". Sorry 'bout that.

Thanks for the comment, its much easier to render that way.
