Description

Ligontridentis sp.

(Spaded Trident)

Spaded Trident Crawler

Length: 7cm

Weight: 12g

Description:

The spaded trident crawlers are a commonly sighted crawler genus in Lounian rock pools. They come in a wide variety of forms and colours with roughly 50 species thus far identified. This genus is distinctly more malleable than most others with tentacles that are frequently stretched or pulled in all manner of forms. Rarely do two Ligontridentis have matching silhouettes.

The trident crawler genus is entirely made up of active hunters that most prominently target slow-moving Lounian water-slugs. The crawlers feed on the slugs by garishly nibbling off of them while the organisms are alive. An interesting observation was made in that rarely do the crawlers kill their slug prey. Seemingly, the crawlers were aware that the slugs would regenerate over time allowing them to feed on the slugs again later on.
