In the U.S.A. we just get Easter baskets and hide colored hard-boiled eggs and let little kids go try to find them (An Easter Egg Hunt) and sometimes use plastic eggs filled with candy or money) It's mostly a time for children, but lots of families get together for family reunions and (of course) go to church (Since Easter represents the rising of Christ on the third day after Good Friday.) Oh, and it is customary to get a new Easter outfit (so kids are usually let loose in the yard to crawl on hands and knees in search of these eggs in their Sunday-Best, getting grass-stains and mud all over their brand-new nice clothes. LOL! I love Easter!!!

Oh, I know what moonshine is. The south is famous for moonshine. I've had some home-made alcohol myself (honey-mead, actually)
And yeah, a lot of people are super-stupid and drive drunk. They say "Save a life, don't let a friend drive drunk" but believe me, it's difficult. If a drunk person is determined he is going to drive, you actually have to trick them into not (and sometimes they manage to get their keys and drive through their friend's mother's yard, narrowly missing her mailbox and lawn adornments in the process) leaving the rest of the party-goers in the morning saying "What an idiot!"
In regards to kids getting out in their Sunday best, yeah, it's amazing to me parents allow it and I'd imagine they'd complain of stains. My mother never did, to my recollection, but we always got nice new outfits and always hunted easter eggs in them. *shrug* And I'm sure to start the tradition with my own daughter too! She's already got an Easter Basket.
I hope you have fun this easter! Find a nice girl to drench. LOL!

Yeah, I'm careful to be in a good mood around Celestial because I would hate to bring down her almost continuous good mood. She's so smiley and happy, it's infectious!
I don't care much for alcohol and when I became pregnant and suffered food aversions (I of course didn't even consider drinking while pregnant, but some people are retarded and choose to) but just seeing alcohol on tv made me want to throw up!!
When I was a little younger (say, 3 years ago or less!) I attended parties quite often and I would often drink with the attempt to become intoxicated (what better way to sing show-tunes with your friends than being drunk!) but I dislike the taste so much that often I would nurse one alcoholic beverage over the course of the whole night, so I really had to force myself to drink (silly, I know) However, when I did drink enough to become intoxicated (usually on Vodka) I would be badly hung-over the next day all day. (only when I drank Vodka, though.)
I never cared for beer (tastes and smells super-terrible! I don't see how people can like beer!) and I never cared for those girly drinks and mixed drinks ( too much water added to them, made my stomach hurt) so I would drink shots (easier to drink less for more effect, I felt) but it led to many embarassing incidences (none of which were photographed! lol) so it is best that I not drink. Anyway, now that I'm a mom, I don't want to be one of those kinds of moms who go out and drink and party. I don't want to do anything disgraceful to my child.
A parent has to hold themselves to a higher standard than non-parents, because everything you do reflects on your children and how your children look at you. Plus, you have more power of influence over your child if you have a cleaner past so they can't say, "Well you did 'such and such' so what right do you have to tell me not to?"
I won't lie, though. I do miss the freedom I had to do those thins in the first place, but I don't regret my decision at all.
