I initially finished/uploaded this piece before the Tales from the Borderlands series ended (on one helluva clifflhanger, I might add), so at the time of this piece's completion, this was my headcanon. Now that the series is over... in all it's amazing "WTF JUST HAPPENED" glory... this piece has officially become Alternate Universe. (shrug)

In that AU, Hyperion (and Helios) still exist (and Rhys is the new Hyperion CEO), and Vaughn and Fiona decide to become professional rally drivers, since they both had a blast in the Bossanova Death Rally.

Here they are, still covered in dirt from the racetrack. heading back to their caravan after their most recent win (the Badass Crater Invitational).

They race under the team name "Glasses-Face and Hat-Lady." Their sponsor is technically Hyperion (thanks to Rhys, who is doing his very best as President to right Hyperion's past wrongs on Pandora), but Fiona still feels obligated to honor Scooter's memory, so she always wears Scooter's hat when she races, and she has gotten extremely good at delivering the "Catch a Ride!" line whenever she and Vaughn win a race (and they are currently undefeated). The entire crowd shouts it along with her. Vaughn is always careful to thank their official sponsor, and it's clear that all of Rhys's efforts to redeem Hyperion's public image is finally having some effect, because people hardly ever shoot at Vaughn these days whenever he thanks the Hyperion Corp!
