the red represents the blood lost in the american revolution, while the library card represents education, which is needed so that the world doesn't get stupid. the legs are an anti war message because if you go to war, you could lose your legs. and the splatters of black represent the evil deeply rooted in mankind.
the bobby pin is just there.
