*Was it something I did?* Not having his mind totally on the dangerous situation at hand, he ran from his cover and headed towards the left side of town.

Link knew it was suicide to go out in the open, so he headed towards the side of the first building near him and pressed his body against the wall. He saw a door nearby but found out that it was blocked from the inside. Doing a wide sweep with his eyes, he found no bulblins on the ground within eyesight. He took this free moment to make sure his bow was ready with the arrow and contemplate his next move.

*Midna didn’t give me much info for the enemies on this side of town.* He looked over to the building on the right side of town, but couldn’t detect Midna anywhere. *What could I have possibly done to upset her? She was happy until I started my quest to get Ilia’s memory back.* It then dawned on him what was going on when he heard footsteps above him.

One of the very few advantages about never learning to speak Hylian, Link never let his position away by speaking to himself. He counted himself lucky when he looked up to see a bulblin walking on the wooden balcony. *I guess he’s here to see what happened to his friend in the tower.* He waited until the bulblin stopped before shooting an arrow through the balcony boards.

A small explosion brought a smile to Link’s face before he remembered what he was thinking about before the bulblin came. *Midna is jealous of Ilia!* With that revelation in mind, he silently made his way to the front of the building.

Midna was floating invisible through the right side of town as she tried to find a quiet place to sit down and think. Finding no place within the buildings, she looked behind them to see nothing but a stone with a hole in it. *I’ll guess it’ll do.* Looking around, she found no one to disturb her and turned visible as she sat on top of the rock.

“I guess the first thing for me to do is to admit that I have a problem with Link’s friend.” Before she went on, she realized how the sentence was worded. “Alright, I have a problem with Ilia.” She then heard something that she didn’t want to hear right now, her conscious. *You mean you’re jealous of Ilia. Why is that?*

“Shut up!” Midna shook her head when she realized that she might have spoken too loud. She quickly went invisible and waited a few seconds until a bulblin appeared. The creature’s back was turned towards her, giving a perfect opportunity to strike. *Links been training you, now’s your chance to make him proud!*

She cleared her head of any thoughts and concentrated on the energy ball growing in her hands. Soon it was big as she previously made them but this one was more concentrated in energy. When she couldn’t contain it any more, she aimed it at the bulblin’s back and fired away.

“Take that!” The bulblin turned around to see a glowing ball of energy smack it in the face. The ball exploded and a second later, the bulblin exploded too. “My first battle without Link helping me…oh I wish he was here to see this!”

Her smile disappeared when she remembered why she was without him. “He probably thinks I’m a jerk again for leaving him.” With a tear sliding down her cheek, Midna resumed her sitting position on top of the stone.
