preparing water for tisane on the campfire. this is daily ritual that I do multiple times per day. the first matecitos in morning are a wonderful treat and decaf coffee later in the day in a french press is delightful. I then add some cold water in the thermos to slightly cool the water for mate. the long handle on the pot and the sturdy oven mit are essential! the well fitting lid helps tremendously as well. some sticks, needles, leaves and cones are good fuel for the fire; keep adding them until the water is boiling. firewood logs, kindling, briquettes and other larger dry branches for firewood are also good fuel. direct flame or hot coals are good heat sources for this preparation.
