Description An urban analysis of one of Rome's oldest, busiest, and most famous piazzas: Campo Dei Fiori.
I would often grab breakfast or lunch from one of the farmer's market vendors on my way to the studio, which overlooked the piazza from the fifth floor of an ancient palazzo turned apartment block.
In addition, I was privileged enough to live in an old monestary connected to St. Agnes in Agone overlooking Piazza Navona only 5 minutes away (by foot) in the heart of Rome.
MAN, what an awesome year!

Excellent. Great page layout and idea with the sculpture on the right. Expresses and captures a complex urban scene with various devices (plan, front elevation, and "deep" perspective.) I could see another row of details along the bottom like doorways, windows and shutters, corbels, etc, but you only have one lifetime he he...

heh, yeah. The whole thing probably took me 20 hours from the moment the pencil hit the paper to the finished product, but 13 of those hours were spent on the the bottom third. The elevations are actually all four sides of the piazza "unwrapped" on to a 2D plane. It is extremely accurate as I used various photos and illustrations as references. Unfortunately, a lot of the detail has been lost in the scanning and uploading process. If I had gone any more detailed, I'd have drawn the individual bricks. The illustration is STUPID accurate down to about 6in (I believe).
