you see, it was taken on square-format slide film, its unsquareness was caused by the scanner, in which it was cropped like this

it's ok - just got a scanner myself and I know they make little crop errors - you can always adjust it in Photoshop

Really amazing how the photo on the right is fading! Specially since that happens on what seems a river side. To me it shows as if something new, but unknown lies behind it whether it is a fading memory or something real. You were lucky to have a defect in the film
