Well this was not a good day for the only costarican drifter, at least the one that is at another level. It's not cool to see this happen since he is a good friend but oh well, one more story documented for his grandsons in the feature hehe. He missed that fast turn several times but no one got injured. The title comes from the idea that he has never had a bad day lie this in his entire career as i can remember.He just rebuilt his AE86 and upgraded the engine to a 3S Beams and added a turbo to get 235hp at barely 5psi.

As a side note, Mario Brenes (the driver and car owner) is his own mechanic and build his engines, rollcages, mounts the suspension, etc. Actually he rebuild this car with D1 specs.

Well he got an invite to go an try on D1 but couldn't attend. At the end of february some of the D1 guys seem to be doing some drift here in Costa Rica, I really hope they can check out Mario's skills and invite him again.
The car, the AE86, is built under D1 specs. He just needs a more powerful engine

I'd have to agree with everyone else so far. This is a great shot. And after watching the video, I'd venture to say he should practice the course a little more often before he tries to compete or just practice more period. Like everyone always says, it's not just a great car, it's the driver that makes the race.
He does a good job going into a drift, but there's something wrong with how he either follows through with it or maybe he gets too much traction. I'm no expert, but that's what I can see.
Still, this is a great shot and the video was fun to watch.

Actually he is quite good, the problem was that the handbreak wasn't working (he noticed after checking for flaws after the demo) so the car wasn't going sideways like it should.
I hope to upload more shots of him when he does have a good day hehe.

His bumper was the problem after that was gone, things weren't do bad. That was painful to watch in the beginning.
