Why does man ponder so long upon the meaning of life?

Should we not instead, ponder upon why we have no answers to this fruitless pursuit?
It seems more sensible, less unreachable - a more rewarding cause.
There must be some reason for our lack of answers - perhaps there is no meaning. There just is.

Perhaps there always has been.
Or perhaps there is nothing at all - just particles of matter equipped with illustrious delusions...

Many a man has been driven to insanity pondering such a wide-stretching question - so burden yourself not.

We are here, this is now.

So why should it matter?

We are running a race that we will eventually lose - is the reason we stress intelligence so much, not to better our society - but something buried deep in the instincts of all creatures - the strive to survive.

WE are so brainwashed by this instinctual desire to survive - to keep our light from going out - that we fantasize terrible images of unknown beings wiping us out, or making us eternal - but where it the fun in eternity?

Where would our world be right now, had Hitler been eternal?
Where would our world be, had dinosaurs survived?

We need not know our purpose - for our purpose is to survive, is it not?
To keep our species alive, to love one another and help each other to excel?

I don't know.
Just a thought. Ponder on it; maybe your steps will become lighter.
