"Spanish Wisdom"Mustang gelding. This great little guy was in training when I took this photo. Beautiful Spanish type mustang only about 14.3 hands high.
Photo ref: my own stock (the original photo was quite fuzzy, so I cleaned it up a bit in the drawing, or at least I tried)

I am in total agreement. I love the community of photographers that offer up their photos as free stock to use as references for fellow artists, it's really quite a service and I appreciate them deeply, but working from my own photographs feels more comfortable because it was my eye that found the shot and drawing from that makes it totally 100% my own.
