I found a beautiful bird place but 4 hours from my home! So over thanksgiving we went to see them and I got some nice photos (I some how forgot that my camera had a super fast shutter speed so I took them in a low shutter speed and remembered the fast AFTER the fact >_< I am so frustrated!)

I've always liked the little guys, since I was a child. Luckily for me, they were always where I lived in Australia. He,he,- that's not to say that I lived under a rock !
Yes, I've been in Nepal many years. It's a wonderful country but, as a developing country, there are many problems and hardships in life for most who live here. I am torn by my homesickness for beautiful Australia and the bonds of love I have with people here. It is not so simple, but that's the way it is. I'm needed here, so I've stayed.

I've lived quite a few years in Indonesia (about 9 years total) so can relate with your homesickness.
My sister can probably relate a little more as she is still fluent in Indonesian and has many friends over there so has a longing to return.
I on the other hand lost my ability to speak Indonesian many years ago and have never been able to get it back, so don't have the same longing.

Yes, it's hard when your life, ( dare I say, lives ), are spread over a vast distance and you can't be in both places. Your love of people and places feels the same but a part of you progresses WHERE you are and, as time passes, it's very hard to keep up the friendships and "life" in the place you are not seeing daily, ... and of course, the lifestyles of such countries as Indonesia and Nepal are quite different than in Oz. ...as I mentioned before, it's not so easy, but that's the way it is.
For you, now, Indonesia may be a fading memory, but perhaps if/when you return there some day the sights, sounds and scents, not to mention the ways of the people, will stir a familiar, happy joy in you.
Meantime, Australia is wonderful ! I'm sure you'll agree.

Yes I do agree.
I one day may return, but probably only if my sister and her family end up there.
