Alright so I've been rewatching this animation from hell recently: www.youtube.com/watch?v=85V7aq…
If you haven't seen it it's uncomfortable and the art style is probably on par with a fourth grader and the story and message is the worst thing ive ever had to sit through
Anyway so the skunk caught my attention actually because when i was small i watched Skunk Fu and for some reason the main character for it endeared me to the point where i literally just made more and more stories and other characters and adding more personality traits onto it until it was essentially just. my own oc so from pretty early childhood ive just been having all these skunk ocs that i pretty much just. constantly develop in my head and "write stories" for in my free time its. weird and i have no idea what to call it (on that note the "story" is literally an amalgam of everything ive been a fan of prior and is pretty much only 7% original so those characters arent making it into an actual thing from me anytime soon). Also I've always had an easier time drawing animals so in an alternate universe I would probably have grown up to be a furry
I just realized I'm sort of getting off topic so uh anyway yeah this character caught my attention because of that and she even looked decently similar to an old design of mine from the purple fur down to the white haircut and she actually looked "ok" compared to everything else so I wanted to try to salvage her design
And then challenged me to some stupid redesign contest to see who could make a better one so that was the push i needed to actually do it i guess
I didn't stray too far from the original design aside from fixing her hair so it made more sense, dulling a few colors down, making slight changes to her fur patterns, and giving her a better outfit. Also smaller things like coloring her whole eyes as opposed to just the pupils and giving her brown paw pads.
I'm not sure if it's noticeable but this is in a kind of different art style? I was imitating the one my weird little skunk fu ocs (and wow calling them that feels,,, cringy but thats essentially what they are? despite not taking place in the same universe? i really need to figure out what the heck to call them because,,) are in because it's an art style I'd love to be able to replicate one day. When I was little I tried to draw them but if it wasn't in the EXACT style in my head it would look weird and off and it would drive me nuts because I felt like I was ruining them although nowadays I can replicate the art style better
But before I manage to get anymore off topic I'm concluding here basically this is a ref sheet for a character from a terrible animation I tried to save. There's also a painted version of this but it came out too bad to post here so lol sorry for rambling this design just reminded me of things
