Description
"Thy Princess of the Night hath arrived!"Thought experiment: What if Princess Luna were of the same stature as Princess Celestia? This was another image I had intended to create for a long time but didn't for some reason. The finished image actually 'works', to my surprise. She looks quite adorable and pretty! I'd love to see how the animators would draw a 'full-grown' Luna.
The adorable expression on her face might just displace my current Nightmare avatar too...

This is really well done. I love the design choices on the crown and chest-plate, as well as the feather definition on the wings. She looks similar to Celestia, but isn't a carbon copy as other adult versions I've seen before tend to favor. She looks like her sister. The color choices are spot on and the mane/tail flow nicely. Overall, I think this is one of the best full grown Princess Luna versions I have come across. My only concerns are minor and as is thy don't take away from the image. The necklace wraps a little too high around her neck above the slope of her back (or the slope is just a bit too intense) and is a bit jarring, The horn could also be shrunk slightly to be better proportioned to the rest of her body but otherwise, perfect. Really nice job.

In fairness, I should mention some parts of Luna - including the wings, horn and necklace - are just recolours of Celestia's equivalent parts.

This is absolutely beautiful. You have perfected Luna into a Goddess, not a mere Princess.
He style, pose, vector, mane, pallette, accessories, , wings, are brilliant.
The mane is sparkly and smooth, perfect size. The Accessories are Royal, Important, and perfectly synched to her glorious, curved body. The colors are vivid, but mysterious, and her expression is of Majestic Mercy, and Understanding. The wings are expressing importance amoung this Queen, and they take control over the artwork, making them one of the key parts to this vector.
I have never seen more precious and realistic vectoring approach to Luna's greatness than this one. Little details just add so much variety, and still the simplicity in the piece Reigns among all other aspects of it.
In conclusion, it's Wonderful. I have no other words to say about it.

Some parts were changed at the last minute - e.g. the raised leg, direction of her eyes and addition of some larger sparkles. I'm glad that the changes seem to have paid off.

I guess by now you've already done whatever you're going to do, but if you did still need it, I'd say... Luna/Nightmare Moon is already herself. If it's not an offspring or Nyx type situation, I recommend going your own way entirely.

I remember when I first watched the show, this was what I had wanted Luna to look like, and was satisfied with her revamp in Luna Eclipsed. Β Though she's still smaller than Celestia, she was at least taller and had the magical flowing mane, looking more like an adult and less like a filly. Β I never did like her Season 1 design.

It always bugged me that Celestia looks like the taller and more superior one.
I can understand with Cadence and Twilight, with them being younger and probably not as powerful as the two regal sisters, so they wouldn't look like this.
But, isn't raising the moon supposed to be equally as important as raising the sun? Which was kind of the big thing as to why Luna was banished...? It just feels a little awkward seeing Tia and Luna together on screen since one of them is always looking or the other looking down. I just think that Luna should look more similar to this but anyway...

I love the way you did Luna's mane plumper than Celestia's. I have always wanted to see what the princess of the night would look like if she was actually grown up/fully achieved. I also like the way you did her crown in your own style. The princess's shoes could be tweaked a bit to make them look prettier though. She looks so wise and eager to greet her subjects. I am absolutely IMPRESSED by your compassionate deep thoughts on your art. Well done. This is amazing.

Now this is the proper way to respect Luna, the fact that they make her look small and weak just adds insult to injury after her banishment. Sometimes I wonder if Hasbro tries to make Luna look worthless... No matter! as a bat pony I will always stay faithful to my dear princess of the night!Β

I don't think it's Hasbro that decides how Luna will look. Personally, I'd rather she look like a true equal to Celestia, but I think the animators try to make her look younger and less mature, so to speak, when compared to her older sister.

It's kind of coincidental that this overlapped with the second revision of Past Sins. This Luna wasn't based off the description in Past Sins - I'm not even sure I had read the relevant scene when I drew it - but it still sort of fits.
