Description i've never played the pokemon games or seen the show but i was amazed when i came across a tutorial how to make Π°n ivysaur flower pot (actually this one: www.instructables.com/id/Bulbasaur-Flower-Pot).
it was really cute so i thought i absolutely need one in my room! and it's also very easy to make.

i followed instructions but after applying paper mache i also used clay (classic darwi air drying clay) to remove ridges and then a sandpaper.
i've also added some clay details. it's coloured with acrilic paints.

(!!!) if you want to make one for yourself, you better use A3 paper or resize a papercraft when printing cause an actual size is really small (11x10cm) so you probably won't be able to find a fitting flower pot in a store.
the flower i used is kalanchoe, you can also use guzmania (but those are usually bigger so you'll definitely need to print a bigger size papercraft).

P.S. thanks for your attention! it means a lot to me!

I like the changes you made, I think you did a better job than the original version. I will make one in the near future but probably do full traditional clay work and a general glaze.

Nice work there! It made me willing to try to make my own clay papercraft based flower pot.
I'm not sure if you'll see this, or even answer in time (one year after, haha), but...
I was assembling the papercraft, and after finishing the face, came check color stuff, but then, comparing sizes with your vase, made me think my resizing was too big! I'm not sure 'bout the dimensions, but I rescaled to 250% the original model size. I was trying to make something like your model size (the proportions were perfect!). Do you think it's too big? What is the current scale of the vase?

hi! i don't think that's too much of a problem.
actually i made a bigger one too (it's 18x21 cm and 12 cm high) and they are both ok, i think.
size can only be a problem if you have no space on your table or wherever you want to put it.

I love this!
I do have a question though, and it's going to sound weird. I got volunteered to help my sister create a model of the human heart for her medical class, and she's wanting to use something besides styrofoam. I was wondering how you made this, not the Bulbasaur, but the materials you used to make it in general.
I thank you for your time, have a great day!

95n In reply to MrsKatieNance2010 [2014-04-26 10:25:29 +0000 UTC]

hmm, i've never made things like that before but i guess you could just cut a heart from styrofoam or sculpt it from foil. and then cover it with some paper mache. if you want to add some small details then use air drying clay. then just paint it. if it's difficult for you to sculpt, you can download heart papercraft from here torso.amorphous-constructions.… and just cut it out, fold it and glue and then smooth it and add details with clay or paper mache.
