Deltarune... Deltarune, Deltarune, Deltarune...

Holy shit, what an experience.

And what better way to confirm I enjoy the game, than to make a sprite sheet that puts Frisk back in the leading role? I certainly can't think of any other way.

-- PLOT STUFF OR WHATEVER --
When you wake up as Frisk in Deltarune's world, the game tells you flat out: "Something is wrong." This isn't the house Frisk remembers sleeping in. Hell, he isn't even a kid anymore, but a proper teen now. Oh, well, best to just go along with it for now, right? Frisk steps out of the house, and Toriel calls him to the car. Cue the intro music. Frisk gets to the school, and goes to Ms. Alphys' class. Frisk, of course, has to get paired up with Susie, and you can pretty much see where this is going. Frisk tries to get back into the classroom to report Susie for eating the chalk. I'll give you three guesses as to how well that ends up.

As soon as Frisk and Susie fall into the Dark World and meet Ralsei, Frisk begins to... remember. He remembers just how familiar and yet... unique this whole experience is. Meeting Lancer only further solidifies how familiar yet distant this whole experience is. Almost as if things are repeating, yet in a different way. During Frisk and Ralsei's journey to get Susie back or something, Ralsei stops Frisk when he notices he's walking a bit... slower than normal. And then... Frisk hugs the furry boy.
You hold on tight to Ralsei, much to his surprise.
Despite your best efforts, the tears won't stop flowing.
You tell Ralsei that this hug feels familiar.
...
You tell Ralsei that you don't want to let go.
Luckily for Frisk, Ralsei tells him that he doesn't have to let go. Heck, he can keep hugging him forever if he wants. But, alas, he has to let go to continue the adventure. After the rest of the Dark World, Frisk gets back to town, where exploring only further solidifies that nothing is the same. And no further line solidifies this to Frisk than this very line here: "Alphys? Who's that? Never heard of her before." This... pierces Frisk's heart, surprisingly more than any other difference.

Once he gets home, and the house is dark, Frisk begins to sleepwalk, just randomly. Then, once he gets back near his bed... He comes too, and wakes up. And that's when he completely, utterly breaks down. He misses the good ol' days. He's been thrust into this new world where nothing is the same, not even his age. And all he can do is cry as he longs for the comforting hug of his true mother once more...

He just wants to choose his destiny.
Choices do matter in this world.

...Right?
