I fucking hate doing backgrounds, spent most of my time trying to do some detailed bg to it just turning to shit, and so I have to stick with this boring lame ass bg. Drawing literally makes me want to pull my hair out I swear ugh. Never comes out the way you want to.anyways rant over.
just wanted to draw some respectable artwork for my favorite Charizard mega that I think is highly unappreciated.

I agree with how Charizard Y gets no appreciation. What's the point of having two Charizard Megas if your going to overshadow it with one mega, giving noΒ love to the other mega? I prefer Charizard X but I also love Y and don't think it should be left out!
I'm glad to see Charizard Y got to appear in the anime. But the battle was pretty disappointing!

Even if you hate the background, I find it astonishsing, the colors match so well and really blend in! Matches witht he simplicity of Charizard too!

That, and I don't get the point of the random claws on its shoulders. Mega Y is just "let's take this dragon and make it more dragon." Bigger, longer head and tail, more spikes, bigger wings...I love it even non-shiny (and those ragged wing membranes look intense). Being able to hit harder than Mewtwo isn't bad either.

yeah dude, that 159 Base special attack fire blast boosted by drought, not to mention first turn solar beam and weakened water attacks against it?
Thats an insane pokemon you have right there. Nothing wants to switch into a fire blast from this beast.
Plus looks wise it looks like a perfected charizard. While charizard X looks like a normal shiny charizard with weird shoulders and awkward wings.
