Maybe she is the way she was in Ponyville because all she wanted is to spend time with her childhood friend.

Aw, Gilda...
I also like to think Dash was her only close friend, and that some of her meanness was the result of getting that one-on-one time interrupted. I would have loved to see some reconciliation of sorts. After all, the show is subtitled, "Friendship is Magic," and what better way to demonstrate that with Gilda opening herself up to the mane 6?

Heck yes. I'm sure the MLP crew has planned it out already? If not for this season, maybe the next? But 3rd season will need a more open-minded audience, since Lauren Faust won't be the executive director anymore.
