Description well, this was dumb. Another response drawing on tumblr ♥
I swear, I really need to work on that art trade. I need help to keep my hands from erupting LC fanart.
It's that bad.

The thumbs didn't load. (It's okay, I found them anyways.) I don't understand how that translated to this looking like a shorter hairstyle, but okay. XD;;

Is it? That's good. I hate coloring skin. Don't ever know what the right color should be =3=

how long have you been drawing ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sorcaron In reply to CommanderLampie [2014-06-17 04:43:05 +0000 UTC]

Mm, I drew stuff when I was little. I recall my first 'anime' drawing was of Digimon characters back in 3rd grade or so. My 'current stage of drawing' I consider as having started the summer before 12th grade, around the time that I made my devArt account. By 'current stage of drawing' I mean

- drawing a lot more floating heads (in class)
- foraying into digital art
- drawing book fanart?

I don't draw every day and I often never draw anything elaborate for long periods of time, especially now, but I still consider this to be the same stage where I 'am still drawing [lots].'

tl;dr
Essentially, there is 'B.D.' (Before DeviantArt) and 'A.D.' (After DeviantArt).

Do you have stages of drawing that you can identify?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CommanderLampie In reply to Sorcaron [2014-06-19 00:14:31 +0000 UTC]

wow, I never fully acquired the "anime" style until 3rd grade, where I learned from a terribly generic tutorial book *shudders*
I just label by grades or age, honestly. I remember I drew a lot in 3rd, 4th, and 5th and then stopped in sixth because I was adjusting to middle school.
Then I started drawing again over the summer  before 7th grade and I created my dA in August, but didn't post till November b/c of school and stress.
I drew everyday b/c I wanted to improve a lot, and if you just wanna see my drawings in the beginning to of seventh grade, just go to the bottom of my gallery.
I try to get out of my comfort zone, so I can improve more, honestly. I want to improve everyday, and hope to be a better artist by the time I reach your age.

Sorcaron In reply to CommanderLampie [2014-06-19 04:07:40 +0000 UTC]

hm icic. I drew some things from 'how to draw' books; they definitely weren't anime ones. I just picked up anime styles from shows that I watched (most prominently Detective Conan and Prince of Tennis).

Good for you! I draw ...so i don't fall asleep in class? lolidk. I tend to give up very quickly when I venture outside my comfort zone.
You're already very good, so I have no doubt you'll be brilliant in another 10 years if you keep it up xDD;;

idk if I'll even reach 23 without quitting drawing about 70 times
I hope I can start drawing animals ( like big cats and gorrillas) soon, because it help mmy anatomy problems.
Hopefully.
Do you have any tips to improve faster ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sorcaron In reply to CommanderLampie [2014-06-29 01:26:15 +0000 UTC]

eh, depends on what you mean by 'quitting.' I just draw for fun.

Sounds like a good idea! I haven't really drawn animals since I tried some of those 'how to draw' books. I just look up human anatomy/tutorials, read them, and then forget to actually reference because I'm too lazy.

Ummm... nope, not really. I think everything you're doing/planning on doing is much better than anything I've done.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CommanderLampie In reply to Sorcaron [2014-07-02 21:34:18 +0000 UTC]

quitting : stop drawing because I don't have time for it and then I draw nonstop for the next year or so

the last time i drew an animal was in kindergarten. O_o

I'm trying to improve my anatomy, but everytime I want to I change my style "-______-

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sorcaron In reply to CommanderLampie [2014-07-05 23:59:10 +0000 UTC]

Just draw during class. Then you never quit.

Sounds about the same amount of time since I've drawn an animal (7 years ago, give or take).

So.... style changes prevent you from improving anatomy?? o3o

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CommanderLampie In reply to Sorcaron [2014-07-09 03:42:28 +0000 UTC]

I always do, that how I improve

animal anatomy is just extremely diffucult for me. I can catch style really well.

Every time I want to improve my anatomy, its caused by a specific art style, hence making me focus to change my style and not improve on anatomy.

Sorcaron In reply to CommanderLampie [2014-07-09 08:50:26 +0000 UTC]

Drawing in class is the best.

Mmm yeah. According to my mom, you should study the bone structure too??
That's good.

ah ic. Interesting. My drawing style has just been influenced by what I've recently been reading/watching. Or, well, it used to be. I think my fingers and brain are too lazy to switch now....
But, that is an interesting conundrum.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CommanderLampie In reply to Sorcaron [2014-07-10 01:16:22 +0000 UTC]

always.

hOW AM I SUPPOSED TO STUDY HUMAN BONE STRUCTURE I CAN'T RIP APART A HUMA-

*gasp*

GOOGLE

I actually am more influenced by artists, especially who are more cartoony than anime, and their fanart than what I watch/read.

Sorcaron In reply to CommanderLampie [2014-07-10 08:47:46 +0000 UTC]

Or you could be Frankenstein and go search for dead body parts. Make sure you get the bigger ones so they're easier to work with.

Same. Well, maybe not cartoony, though I am feeling that my art style is not-quite-so anime.
But yes.
Fanart.
So many
wonderful styles.

CommanderLampie In reply to Sorcaron [2014-07-17 00:57:16 +0000 UTC]

I'm not that desperate.
But desperate enough to look at [hawt] almost naked guys bodies. *wink wink*

I actually like your art style, only your face styles show that you branch from anime, which is pretty brilliant.
Ah, fanart. So beautiful. ♥

Sorcaron In reply to CommanderLampie [2014-07-17 05:50:31 +0000 UTC]

Every time I come across some shirtless guys (IRL?) I always claim that I'm only observing for drawing purposes. ;D

Oh why thank you~
Hm, interesting. I've never thought of it like that before. I just know it's 'used to be anime-y' (see last panel/comments on this ol' thing ) and now it's 'hand. cannot. draw. better/different? style.'

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CommanderLampie In reply to Sorcaron [2014-09-07 20:55:47 +0000 UTC]

I can't look irl cute guys in the eyes. It's embarrassing.

My art style is SUPER anime-y, and I hate that when I draw book fanart because it comes out very strange looking.
The only 'different-style' I can draw fluently is the stereotypical 1997 anime fanart.
