Description

What defines divinity? Is it the personification of forces our primeval minds could not comprehend? A meteor burning in our atmosphere, or bolts of lightning tearing the sky? Perhaps something darker, that we collectively saw something, peaking out at us from the depths of the vast lake that lays beyond the shores of our subconscious. Maybe that's why the Islanders felt to isolate themselves, entrenched themselves in the depths of the forest, to make their own artificial deities, ones that "purified" the river to give them an excuse for fresh water. As I gazed at this being, I too began to fear the water, the deepness, and the things it hides so well.
