Running really fast down my wing, I take a breath and enjoy the night air with all the windows open. While running, I dodge all of my stuffed animal servants with ease. My Big Sis gets mad that I leave all of my stuffed animal toys around, but I keep telling her that they’re my servants. It’s super annoying to remind her all the time! It’s a lot easier for them to do their job when they’re all over the place, not in my toy box!

Besides, the ones in the toy box are my playmates, they exist to be played with. It’s a big difference, for Pete’s sake!

Who care’s though, I’ve got another half hour before bedtime, so I say I should take full advantage of it. Of course, I could grow up and stay up longer, which sounds a really cool idea, but I like to sleep in my bed. Its super comfy, my blanket always as soft as the day they’re washed, and the fact they have the coolest pattern ever makes it the best bed to sleep in.

I yawn just thinking about it, but I shake my head, wanting to play, not sleep. So I think about what to play before Big Sis tucks me in, and the first I see is my Fairy Tale wallpaper. I have a giant stuffed dragon in my throne room, so I could play with that. Oh yeah, I forgot my Sister took my wooden sword. I could make another one, but then she’ll get mad at me for it.

So what else can I do? I look up to see my lights, which aren’t lightbulbs and electricity. Actually, I use Mana to make little light balls with cute faces on them. They even change their faces. What’s the word for that again? Animo…enimatied...? Animated! That’s the word! They have animated faces. When I see them, talking to each other, I remember my Switch, and that role playing game I have sounds like the most fun.

I run to my play room, and lights with faces pop up, letting me see. I go for my toy chest, starting up my Switch, and- yes! Fifty percent, and the Joy Cons have just enough to play until bedtime.

Just playing it would be great, but I want to have the most fun I can have, so I take out the Joy Cons and place the Switch on the floor. I point to it and say, “And cast!”

In that moment, computer blocks circle around the monitor, turning the RPG into a real virtual world to play in. With each Joy Con in my hands, I jump in to play. As I fall, the computer blocks slowly build into a forest with a large clearing. When everything is finished being built, my joy cons turn into a shield and wizards staff, like my avatar in the game. I can even see my health, magic, and items.

Even though I do this all the time in my regressed state, it still never gets old. From here, I just continue where I left off, which is taking on the grassy plains dungeon. Using spells and shield-based attacks is even more fun when I’m using my actual body. I can actually feel when my magic points go down, my experience goes up… virtual reality has nothing on this!

Just before I reach the tree gate leading to the boss, I hear some rustling in the bushes behind me. At first I get ready to cast a fire spell, the best spell for this dungeon, when instead I hear people, not monsters made of data.

“Rob the two freaks of the world you said, and now we’re in another location! Good on you!” Someone tries to whisper but fails.

“Shut it, as long as we don’t run into one of those crazy people, then we’re fine,” The two of them step out of the bushes and see me, immediately sighing of relief. “Oh good, it’s just a runt.” He changes his demeanor, bringing out a crowbar. “You know how to get out of here by any chance? And where we can find all your valuables?”

Based on the masks and black clothes, my immediate question is, “Are you guys trying to rob us?”

The other one also tries to act scary. “Yeah, we are, and unless you want to get hurt, I suggest you tell us where you’re mommy’s diamonds are at.”

I smile widely at them, and cast a fire spell anyway. The explosion sends them back, and they’re immediately shocked by it. I then cast multiple other spells and make them dance funny, trying to avoid the ice and fire and lightning.

One of the burglars says a bad word. “All that god stuff is real?”

At that point I trade my shield and staff for my joy cons, and that’s when I get to have some real fun. With a wave of my arms, the game’s data mixed with my Mana allows me to generate objects and enemies to fight the burglars with. I conjure boulders to smash them with, enemies to attack them, and all kinds of different traps to confuse them. By the end of it, I can’t stop laughing at how silly they looked.

It comes to a point where one of the burglars takes out a gun and starts yelling at me. When he does, my immediate thought is to grow up so I can really give these guys a spanking. Yet, before I get the chance to, I’m being held up by my shirt. I look to see my big sis smiling at me, to which I smile back at her.

“It’s time for bed, kiddo,” She says calmly.

“Oh, c’mon, just a few more minutes? I was going to grow up and beat up these bad guys.”

She tilts her head, her pretty green hair shifting a little bit. She turns her head to the burglars and sighs. “How many times do I have to tell you in this form? Always check the area before opening the windows.”

I cringe, realizing that I should have done that when I was a grown up. “Sorry, big sister,”

“Try to remember it for next time. Now, take us back to your playroom and brush your teeth.”

“Okay,” I close my eyes and remove the Mana in my Switch, quickly forcing us back to my playroom, with my console and joy cons on the floor. Without thinking about the bad guys anymore, I run out of my playroom and to my bathroom to brush my teeth.

On the way, I can hear the bad guys yelling at my sister, but they suddenly stop. I can’t help but giggle at the bad guys getting their backsides kicked by my sister. I’m pretty sure they won’t be robbing anyone after tonight.
