Will glanced outside only seeing trees. 'Why did Halt have me become his apprentice? I rather be fighting at battle school. Why?' Will asked himself.
Halt glanced at his apprentice. It had only been 4 months and Will still wanted become a knight. If only Will knew the dangers of being a Ranger but also the excitement and the moral rewards and victories he would get over the years. Of course without having any missions he had to go on he was stuck practing and cleaning all day with only a rest to eat lunch.
Will turned around so he could see his mentor. "Halt?" He asked and continued when there was no reply. "Why did you want me as an apprentice?"
Halt stared at his apprentice as if he had just asked which end the horse pooped out of. Though seeing his apprentice serious and confused at his mentors expression Halt answered, "Because you have talent and potential. Now go and practice deep in the woods. See if you can shoot a rabbit and bring it back with a hole right between its eyes."
Will stood up stretch and grabbed his bow. As he left the cabin he went back to the stable and saddled up Tug. He lead him out when he heard a cough behind him. Will turned around to meet his mentor's hard stare.
"Hope you did not plan on taking him out because i was going ionto to town to get more supplies and he will be caring some of it." Will was about to argue when Halt continued, "Of course that is if you do want coffee which he will be caring but if you do not want any i can leave him with you."
Will looked into Halt's eye seeing that they were dead serious he let Tug's lead rope drop and started to walk into the woods. As he got deeper in he started to notice rustling in the bushes and hear birds chirping. As he round another bend he saw tracks, rabbit tracks, just what he wanted. He followed the tracks not seeing the bigger boot tracks on the edge of the tracks. Soon he saw the rabbit munching on some wild onions a little way up the track. He raised his bow ready to shot when the rabbit looked up and hoped into a thicket bush. Will looked around trying to find what had startled the rabbit when someone or something knocked him in the back of his head. He started to see black dots when a bag was thrown over his head and he was lifted off. Sometime he blacked out because of the pain in the back of his head. When he woke up he was still in bag but his feet and hand were tied up and there was a rope going around his waist tieing him to something else. He heard a vocie from somewhere else.
Will called out hoping that some one might hear him and take of this pig smelling bag, "Helloo any one out there? Some one who might have put me here!"
He heard some one talking from his left, "Hey Luke, Looks like our Ranger prisoner has woken up! Maybe he will tell us what we want or we can just beat him for the fun of it!"
The boy was talking walked over to Will and pulled off the bag.
"Well look who the cat dragged in Ranger. NOw I have a few questions and I want them answered or my friend over there will put an arrow threw your leg."
