NES and SNS I get, but... where'd NUS, DOL, RVL, and WUP come from? Are those supposed to be from the consoles working titles, like how the Gamecube started as Project Dolphin and the Wii and Project Revolution?
Cause if that's the case, what did NUS and WUP stand for?

They're actually the console's model number (each console is something like DOL-001 for the consoles, and later numbers being things like accessories)! This website has a neat list of them maru-chang.com/hard/dol/englis…
NES, SNS are self explanatory, while NUS is Nintendo Ultra Sixty-four (the original name), DOL is for Dolphin, RVL is for Revolution, WUP believed to be something like Wii U Project.
