Indeed I do!
Don't worry when I get round to painting my new figures I'll be sure to experiment lots with the bases! (Unfortunatly RL is a royal pain in the butt; but I WILL get round to it eventually)
Ah; that's actually a really good idea...did you need to smooth the carved lines out? If so how'd you do it?

U know, I just picked a soft pleksi as I already told ya! The carving was easy co it don't need smoothing afterwards

Oh sorry about that; got a little a head of myself *sheepish* Ah okay some of the stuff I used in my design tech projects worked in a similar way but I needed to run over the edges with sandpaper so I wasn't sure.
Thanks anyhow!

Is this paint ink? What color? Is there a "generic" color you use like brown or black? Thanks for pointing out where the ink is so I can look at it more closely and think about it for future projects.
How big is this bird? I know minis are all sizes.
I need to experiment with the "green stuff". I have a project requiring it so I can play with it without messing up everything. I read the other comment about green stuff.

Yeah it's citidel ink. The wings I think were sunburst yellow...or ...damn it was an orange..forgotten which one. I'll look through my Dad's paints eventually to see if I can find it. The eye area were red ink and a little yellow on the edges. The talons I can't actually remember which one I used due to spontaneously deciding to use it.
The base roughly 4cm by 4cm and it's 7cm tall at it's highest point. So it's kinda medium sized for warhammer...it's not as big as the dragon I plan on doing though.
Yeah that's lots of fun. It's modeling putty you can get some from the gamesworkshop website. Might even be able to get some from forgeworld not too sure on that though. My advice on that is to get a cheap model and go crazy with it; my Dad did that and he figured out some pretty crazy ways of using it.
That's what they're there for!

I look forward to seeing them; when I get round to doing my Dragon I'll take photos step by step so everyone can see how I've done it.

I tell ya, it will look way better, more allive!
As for now, realy good efect

youknow, I udualy take this GW modeling sand with some little rocks, or what ever you like, bodies, pieces of armor, skulls, barbed wire, its all up to you (small pieces of ripped Cork is realy good for making rocks if you ask me) I put a black undercoat spray on it, than finish up with paints using mostly dry brush technique. For this I use colors like scorched brown, bubonic brown, snakebite leather, final touches with bleached bone. Always put the colors in order from the darkest ones to those lighter, you can also mix paints together to get color you prefer the most.
when this is finished it's always good to put some grass on it (I prefer using small amounts of traditional green one (GW- Glade Grass), it just bring's miniature to life!). Visit my profile later this week, maybe I manage to find some photos of my miniatures so you will be able to see what I'm talking about (It will be quite of a challange because I left my miniatures in Poland, and now I'm in Denmark )
Good luck with the miniatures Dude!

Thank you soooooo much I really appreciate the tips...you think perhaps I should use some warmaster bits? They should be small enough in scale? We do have some rocks that my Dad prefers to use (most our bases are rather plain and dull though). Ripped cork...hmm I'll have to see what I can do about that; you've given me an idea there.
Yeah I have a little of the GW glade grass in my box of 'stuff' that could be used.
Indeed...I think I'll add you to my dev watch list if that's alright?
My thanks and the same to you!

Hmm yeah I probably will use warhammer bits for the dragon the pheonix though I usually play in warmaster game...perhaps I should use some bits of 'vehicles' instead they should be big enough to stay visible?
you're welcome.
Thank you and good luck to you also!
