This actually started off as just a practice drawing, but a few hours later and alot of Manowar.............well here it is. He is standing inside a cave and behind him are the mountainous lands that he gaurds. The cave is the only pass to these lands. I'm actually thinking about entering it for one of the competitions going, but I fear the trolls will come and hunt me down due to the severed head in the drawing.27/08/05
Made a few changes. Leaving it as it is now, moving on to next one.

this is awesome! i love the stance you've put the guardian in, and his facial expression is very realistic. this is awesome... but still not enough to make me listen to manowar. hammerfall maybe but not manowar. i know i'll put on some finntroll lol

anyway this is really excellent and i can see you spent a lot of time on this!! i agree with the above comments regarding the background... a little less detail and shading to make those mountains fade away in the distance. a sword blade is smooth and would reflect a lot of light. adding white highlights really makes the bright metal of a weapon stand out.
i like how the rocks are drawn, very stylized and reminds me of hardened lava... keep up the good work!!

Another great picture. Body of the guardian is wonderful, and the head he's holding looks so fine...But i got some advices for You...If You don't mind^^
First: the walls of cave seem a bit "melted" to me, I think rock should be more sharp. But the level of detail is great.
Second: the sword looks like made of wood. It should have highlights in the middle, on both sides, the dark and highlited now, to make it look more "metallic" And there's onother one thing that should be here: Blood!! ^^ He killed someone with that sword, it can't be clean^^
Third: I agree with Vasper: There should be more mountains, maybe some clouds. Because first time I saw that pic, i thought it is wall, not sky^^

ok don't take this the wrong way because your very good with detail
but this drawing has way too much of it.
because this drawing is colorless and all the detail in the cave looks so similair to the person and objects this drawing can be confuseing.
When it comes to fantasy art work thats in black and white (mainly from comics) either the background is given less detail to make the person stand out or the person is given less detail so again the person stands out but the view gets a better understanding of the world around the person.

the way you draw this scene is really amazing dear.
I love the details of the warrior (body and face), and also the head of the dead guy (a troll head ?). The clothes of the warrior are well done too. And the stalagmites and stalagtites are so real.

the body's drawing is beautiful and the way he holds his sword..but the sky behind him would be much more better if you darkened it more and give a reflection light inside the cave a little bit more

A good Drawing. If I might make a suggestion. The mountains seem to have somewhat the same textures as the rocks in the cave. Sort of takes away from the depth. Also some more mountains in the distance, more faded from haze or what not would set it off.
