When I registered here a few months ago, I was actually interested in art and literature in general (I still am). But somehow, looking at the many posts about Genesis characters, clothes, shoes and accessories, I got the urge to try it with shoes myself, since I've been working with Blender for many years anyway.

For my first attempts at using Blender objects in Daz Studio, I wanted to choose flat shoes. The contrast between the very plain Amazon Essentials thongs and the luxury ballerinas by Jimmy Choo seemed appealing to me. Sturdy straps and a rustic sole here, delicate mesh, beads+Swarovskis and an ultra-thin sole there (besides, you get at least 32 pairs of thongs for the price of one pair of ballerinas ).
Of course, as a Daz Studio beginner, I ran into a bunch of rigging problems at first. But the video by Allen Renfeldt and especially the concise and clear tutorial by amyaimei here on Deviant Art helped me a lot. With a few additional adjustment morphs, both shoe models already fit quite well on many G8F and G8.1F characters, including those with custom foot shapes. However, the soles of the ballerinas on Victoria 8.1 are still a bit wavy - I must have missed something, adjusting weights or so.
Anyway, there is still a lot to learn and to do.

All shoe materials are made by me - except for the beads in DS. Since I was not yet able to achieve something similar to the Blender material, I used 'Natural Cream' by Laurie Allen (AllenArt Iray Jewelry Shaders), which by the way looks much more similar to the Jimmy Choo beads than my Blender attempt.
