Personality: Mellow, laid-back, a bit bossy and outspoken, sarcastic, and quite protective of the ones she cares about. Gear loves and enjoys taking things apart and putting them back together (though this tends to make people angry when she does this in public to things that weren‘t meant to be taken apart). She’s not very good with people, not knowing what to or what not to say, and more than often saying the wrong thing. That’s when she speaks. She usually stays quiet, speaking only when spoken to or ordering something from someone in a store. Or, of course, telling someone to move out of the way. She doesn’t really care what anyone tells her or thinks (except for her grandfather), taking most things in stride. She’s more approachable without the mask, as it makes her seem quite intimidating with it on. She shouldn’t be taken as weak and if ticked, she won’t think twice before striking that person down with her wrench. She won’t kill for an insult or for being ticked off, but chances are it’ll hurt like the dickens. She’ll kill and shed blood if it’s to protect her grandfather or someone she cares for. She doesn’t really care for the Queen so might as well go out and have some fun against her. Her grandfather may not approve, but this is one of the ways she protects him: learning to fight better in fights themselves.

History: Growing up learning to work with her hands in fixing machines, Sofia took a great and early interest in inventing. As well as fixing anything she thought appeared broken. She spent most of her time either reading up on machinery, taking things apart, putting things back together, repairing things, or creating her own inventions. (All of which never seemed to function correctly.) Because of this, she spent very little time with her parents. Though, they did support her in wanting to become an engineer.

At age nine, both of her parents met their end in an accident. One of her inventions started a fire and both her parents died due to being trapped in the house. She has burn marks on her body from the fire which she keeps covered with bandages. She’s never truly forgiven herself for the incident. After that, she went to go live with her grandfather from her mother’s side, but it wasn’t exactly, or at all, what she expected.

He lived down in the Underworld. Mainly due to being partially dead. It was quite a shocker when she learned this, even though he was just as surprised that her parents never told her. Thus, he laughed in her face, told her to get over it and welcomed her to her new home until they ran her out of there. Of course, this did not make her feel any better. But it did answer as to why they never let her visit him. She never left his side and was told to lie and say she was partially dead, like him. She didn’t see the point in it, but did so anyways. After a year of living with him, she got back into mechanics and engineering, going back to creating her crazy and nonfunctioning inventions. Eventually her crazy failing inventions actually began to work, partially due to her not wanting to burn her grandfather’s home down as well.

Luckily for her, her grandfather decided to give her the “garage” for her workplace. Really, he just did that as he was also worried she’d burn down his house. In there she spent most of her time, tinkering away at her inventions for hours. Whenever she came back into the house to rest she’d be bleeding or hurt in some way. He always bandaged her up, eventually telling her that humans weren’t truly accepted in the Underworld. She accepted this and it answered why she was never let out alone. That also made her realize that people always told her things late.

Accepting what she was told, she later on decided to wear a mask whenever she went out. Both as a disguise and because she liked wearing it when fixing or inventing something. Not to mention she looked a bit like a crazed killer when wearing her jumpsuit, which is what she adored the most about it. By age fifteen she was fully accustomed to things in the Underworld. The riots that broke out, breaking skulls against anyone who tried to hurt her or her grandfather, eating insects to blend in, going out above to get some food to bring back to live off of, telling everyone who asks that she’s only partially dead, and being taken for as a boy.

Now at age seventeen, she is known as Gear the Engineer due to her inventions and interest in mechanics. No one but her grandfather actually calls her Sofia as everyone else mistakes her for a male and knows her by that name. She goes along with this, always wearing a jumpsuit due to always working and a mask to hide her face. She never truly speaks so that her voice won’t give her away. She also wears a hat to hide her hair when not wearing the mask and goggles to shield her eyes. When not wearing goggles she wears small circular glasses. She doesn’t need them but she enjoys wearing them, nonetheless. She also always carries around her rather long wrench, both for combat and because she never knows when she may need to fix something (or take it apart out of curiosity and habit). In her left bottom pocket she carries a small screwdriver. Also in case of emergency.

She still spends most of her time inventing something in the garage, useful or not, functional or not. She takes it as a career in helping others fix something of theirs. She only goes out to run errands for her grandfather, get food, get supplies, get some air, or other reasons. She wants to keep her grandfather safe, and that is the main reason she fights, despite getting hurt almost every time. Really, just another day in the Underworld for Sofia Fayette.

However, one day things changed when her grandfather got hurt in a riot. She fended off those who got anywhere close to her, but even she knew he was in trouble if they stayed there any longer. That day, the doors to another world opened up to her. Without a second thought she grabbed her grandfather and carried him in there. Things were indeed much more peaceful in that world as they were aided. A fresh breath of relief was welcomed into her lungs.

Had done her info some months ago and decided to redo my original sketch of her. I like this one more. Decided not to show her actual face and such. Plus, she looks more crazy and "fitting" for the Underworld. She really isn't as crazy as she looks. This is her after a riot, I would say. Or after spending too much time in the garage. |D; But anyways, hope she looks more like a guy now, despite the pose and such. @__@ I still like it~
