Description
Anglermon
Pronunciation: ANN-glur-mon
Name origin: Anglerfish, order of fish known for using a lure to catch prey
Family: Deep Savers, Nature Spirits
Type: Fish
Stage: Rookie
Attribute: Data
Height: 2'0"
Information
Small in stature but big of ambition, Anglermon is a quick-thinking, sprightly and always optimistic little creature. With a grin on his face, he will happily march forward into any situation as if he owns it, and if he ends up getting knocked back a peg in the meantime...well, there's no harm done, and there's always next time.
He can be brash, and a little bit boisterous at times, making up for his tiny form with an abundence of energy and opinions on everything, almost to the point of being obnoxious. But with the right words he can always wrangle the situation back under his control. When you get knocked down, there's always another chance to get up. And when things don't go quite your way, you can always bend them a little until they do.
Attacks
- Sawtooth Barbs
- Anglermon bites or slashes his opponent with his fleshy polyps, leaving behind needle-sharp barbs that cause more damage when removed. Any barbs or teeth he loses grow back within a few hours.
- Sinking Snare
- Anglermon touches a solid surface, gradually turning it into a liquid in order to escape or to trap his enemies. By breaking contact, the liquid solidifies again.
Anoplomon
Pronunciation: Ann-NOP-low-mon
Name origin: Anoplogastridae, deep sea fish with disproportionately large fangs, also known as 'fangtooth'
Family: Deep Savers, Nature Spirits
Type: Deep Sea
Stage: Champion
Attribute: Data
Height: 6'4"
Attacks
- Serrated Spinner
- Anoplomon's spines on his forearm raise and spin around into a drill, and he uses them to punch and tear apart his opponents.
- Spine Mines
- Anoplomon punches the ground in several places, leaving patches of softened earth. When his opponents disturb them, the earth retracts into liquid, and a snare of jagged spikes shoots up to impale or capture them.
Xiphactimon
Pronunciation: Zye-FACK-tih-mon
Name origin: Xiphactinus, extinct genus of giant predatory fish reaching up to five metres long
Family: Deep Savers, Nightmare Soldiers
Type: Abyssal
Stage: Ultimate
Attribute: Virus
Height: 10'9"
Attacks
- Jagged Inversion
- Xiphactimon's arms ripple, and he punches the nearest hard surface, releasing waves of sharp rocks that have the effect of liquifying the ground. The waves slash at his opponents, and can seal them in the ground.
- Vacuum Vortex
- Xiphactimon opens his palm, releasing a torrent of dark water studded with sharp stones that overwhelms his enemies.
Charybdimon
Pronunciation: Kah-RIB-deh-mon
Name origin: Charybdis, a giant sea monster encountered by Odysseus in Greek mythology, often taking the form of a whirlpool
Family: Deep Savers, Dark Area
Type: Void
Stage: Mega
Attribute: Virus
Height: 83'8" (Head to Tail 170'5")
Attacks
- Deadzone
- Charybdimon opens his maw wide, the teeth inside spinning at a horrific rate, pulling in the surrounding atmosphere and everything in the vicinity. The maelstrom reaches such intensity at the very centre that no matter can retain its shape, and everything inside is torn into particles.
Proudly presenting, the worst character I've ever made.
Update 21/02/22: Do you want to come back to a magical land with Xiphactimon?
I've never made a merperson before. This was a lot of fun.
Update 14/06/22: He's still out there waiting. Waiting for his starlight. Here's Charybdimon.
One day my Digimon stuff will come to an end, and at that time I will be able to devote my entire being to drawing the most horrifying creatures ever. But that doesn't mean I can't get some practise in now.
