Well here it is friends. Don't know how many hours I spent on this one - at least 15.1.The sky and middle rear tree branch are from a photo, as are the distant hills. But mostly painted over.
2. Castle was done in good ol paint - yep you heard it, paint
For some reason I have yet to figure out how to draw a straight line in photoshop - that was embarassing to admit!! 
3. L. Tree was sketched then painted as was R. tree branch - red leaves.
4. James was sketched on a tablet then painted. I added some armor and his arm after I finished the original line art. [link]

He is. We had an awesome weekend together - went out to see the World championship for under 20 girls - USA vs Germany and North Korea vs France football. It was tons of fun.

awesome, literally i couldn't tell if it was a photo or not, because you did the orange leaves soo well. i was unsure until i read the description ^^

I layed down multiple reds and oranges in a three point pattern than I used the smudge tool to draw out the ends of the leaves and put a darker red/brown to highlight the center veins. Took forever!!! Want to go simple next time.

OMG! That's so awesome! Yeah, I remember the lineart of James you did sometime ago...
And I don't know how to make a straight line in photoshop either...I have to learn how to use the pentool also...

I know...I mean, I make digital lineart in flash because it's much easier...

You can download a trial version. It is my favorite program. You can make animated movies and stuff... I'm just sad that I couldn't bring my flash disk with me when I moved to my new home...

It's really nice... It works with layers too... So, when I was new to photoshop, that kinda helped me get used to it...
And I can help you with it!

Nice piece of work. I like the out of focus effect of the leaves and some of the background. Gives the whole picture a nice feel.
