Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu...

Here's my New Year's Card for 2008! This is for all my friends here on deviantART.

In Japan, is it customary for associates, friends, and family to give small 3x5 or so cards to each other, sending good wishes for the new year ahead. They are usually given by hand within the first three days of the new year....I obviously can't do that for a lot of my friends here Most of them are a few states away or in other countries.

This is actually my second card. My first one was Fushigi Yuugi themed I took this one a bit more seriously because it's particularly for my sensei since I will be working with him this semester as a hands-on tutor for his Japanese 110 class...

But enough about that lol.

I used a photo by Larry Etkin here --> [link] as a reference for my crane because lets face it...I suck at drawing animals. The crane pictured is a Japanese Snow Crane...they live on the Hokkaido Island of Japan.
