Personality/Background: When Noctus was born, it wasn't that big of a surprise to see that he was born an alicorn. But what was surprising was that he was born a mule alicorn, something Equestria has never seen before. Because of his mule blood, as well as one of his mothers being the Princess of Night, and the other being the lead commanding general of the royal guard, he has a lot to live up to. Noctus is very self conscious and worried about his position in the royal world, but he doesn't let that part of him show very often. It's usually covered up by his cold, slightly humorless exterior. His humor is usually either at the expense of others or himself, which is his sort of way to mask his problems.

Tempest wanted Noctus to be able to defend himself, with and without magic. Because if he's going to be the Prince of the Night, then he needed to know how to defend himself. Noctus wasn't exactly thrilled to have to be taught how to fight, and it took him awhile to get the hang of it since his talents mostly stemmed from his knowledge on certain topics. But he eventually got it down and is very good at protecting himself with a sword or just with his magic, but he would much rather spend his time star gazing or going on strolls throughout Canterlot at night. The cover of the night plus his innate ability to blend into dark places helps him get around without being noticed, he usually just goes out to take interesting books from the library. But he rarely ever returns them, which is fine since the books he likes are the ones no pony reads.

Relationships:

Noctus is very close with his mother Luna, because both of them are so connected to the night and darkness, they grew very close. Though Luna does pressure him a lot on being prince, which can be stressful. But he hasn't told her this, which hasn't made her let up at all. So he tries his best to manage

Though he isn't as close to Tempest as he is to Luna, he still really likes her. He just doesn't want to admit it to her as he's not the type of pony to do that very easily. But he has a lot of respect for her alongside Luna

- When he goes out in public, Noctus goes into his disguise which is in the form of a unicorn named Comatose Shower
