I won't write this one, because I already have a more elaborate plot about "vampires", and I never use the same setting twice It's not in my nearest plans, for now I only have a rough draft...
The title is "Voidlessness" (I'm not sure how I'll say it in Russian).
In that world, there is a semi-mythical, quarter-legal organization of people who call themselves "Painkillers". They're basically dead, don't cast shadows and fed by refined, "slaked" blood - regular blood makes them too high and drunk, and is overall unhealthy. Worshipping aesthetics, they try to do everything with style - they spend hours in gym, developing their bodies and practicing fascinating fighting moves.
The range of their activities varies, but the most important one is getting people out of their misery(and thus, gaining blood and donors for themselves). If a person is lonely, depressed, in a dead end or lost something important in his life, he has a void within that is filling with bad feelings and anger. Painkillers find those people and offering their services - sometimes it's a simple euthanasia, but they're more interested in getting alive blood suppliers. It is said that if a person wins a fight with a painkiller, his depression vanishes, and void within disappears, coming into a state of voidlessness. There is no satisfaction, but there's no dissatisfaction either, there's nothing good, nothing bad, not even such thing as "nothing"; some sort of nirvana.
People are assigning for a fight and even get trained by painkillers themselves, but almost always lose and become blood-producing plants. Despite that, there's always a number of people miserable or crazy enough to try.
After a death of a painkiller, someone has to be recruited. This is a case for a main heroine - a young girl who was desperate about an unrequited love. Soon after becoming a painkiller she helps a 4-year-old boy, practically saving him. The story then follows their life in more than 30-years span. The boy grows up into a bounty hunter who's despising the painkillers. At some point he recognizes a girl who once helped him and returns a favor. They spare or save each other's lives a few times more, not sure of who owns whom. They have only several direct encounters, but develop some weird bond.
...In the final scene, the girl is outside with her mortally wounded friend as the sun is going down. His single shadow is on the ground. She hugs him, and it seems like she has a shadow, too, and they've just blended together. The girl says that he won't feel pain any more and drinks as much of his blood as she can, killing him and deadly poisoning herself.

Well, that's my take on "love beyond", blood-drinking creatures and scenes in the sunset. What do you think?
